For more than four decades, I've dedicated my life to helping people overcome barriers, discover purpose, and build brighter futures. My journey has taken me from founding an addiction treatment center in Michigan in the 1980s to launching educational and community-based organizations that serve individuals facing addiction, poverty, homelessness, and other life challenges.
Along the way, I've helped establish initiatives such as City Vision University and Connecting for Good, while leading recovery-focused programs and nonprofits in Kansas City. Whether working one-on-one with someone beginning their recovery journey, teaching future leaders, or strengthening organizations that serve vulnerable populations, my passion remains the same: helping people transform their lives and reach their God-given potential.
As a certified addiction professional, educator, nonprofit leader, and lifelong advocate for community service, I've seen firsthand that lasting change is possible when people are given hope, opportunity, and support. Through this blog, I share insights from recovery work, nonprofit leadership, education, faith, and personal growth, drawing on lessons learned from more than 40 years of service.
My hope is that these reflections encourage, inform, and inspire others who are committed to making a difference in their own lives and communities.
